At Oasis Dental, extractions, including surgical extractions of molars, are done by Dr. Linda Gherman, who has vast experience in both simple and complicated extractions. She is also trained to use the Physics Forceps, a dental tool that leads to faster, less traumatic, more predictable dental extractions. She will thoroughly anesthetize the required area, extract the tooth, and irrigate debris or infection from the extraction site, pack material to promote clotting and healing, and place sutures if needed. Depending on your treatment needs and choices, Dr. Gherman can have a denture fabricated ahead of time and insert it right after the extractions (see immediate dentures below). Sometimes, she will refer you to an oral surgeon for difficult extractions such as impacted wisdom teeth.
